28-Week Prayer Guide

gratitude

One of the quickest ways to enter into a posture of prayer is by giving thanks to the Lord. Gratitude is more than just a feeling. It is speaking back to God, the truth about His character and what we have seen Him do. We can be thankful in the valleys just like we can be on the mountain tops. Throughout the New Testament letters, we read words of thankfulness and gratitude for the work of God and the people of God, and our hearts are stirred up and encouraged. I myself, thank God for you. I am so grateful that you are faithfully entering into these weeks of prayer, knowingly dependent on the giver. As we enter into this week of Gratitude, I have no doubt of the heart work that God will do and the joy that will come out of it.

Week 7
Day 2

April 15

“…giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light. He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves. In Him we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

— Colossians 1:12-14

REMINDER: As believers we have the most to be grateful for because we have hope through Jesus. Our salvation comes because God has enabled us to share in this inheritance. There is a great exchange that happens because of the death and resurrection of Jesus that brings us out of darkness allows us to live in the light.

TODAY’S PRAYER:

–  Thank the Lord for his kindness towards us in offering us salvation.

–  Thank the Lord for his humbly coming down from heaven to die for us, as a perfect sacrifice.

–  Ask God to help remind you of His great love, and praise Him for that love.
