28-Week Prayer Guide
Freedom
This week’s prayer focus is “Freedom.” Freedom is experiencing an intimate relationship with God and walking in the truth of who He is and who He says we are – our identity in Christ. However, this life of freedom is a journey. We have brokenness, sin, lies that we believe and walls within us that separate us from living in freedom.
Scripture tells us in Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners.”
The prayers we pray this week are an invitation for Jesus to heal us, restore us, and set us free. As God’s sons and daughters, we were created to live in an intimate relationship with God and freedom is about restoring intimacy with God.

“We will not hide them from their children, but will tell a future generation the praiseworthy acts of the Lord, his might, and the wondrous works he has performed.”
— Psalm 78:4
REMINDER: In Mark 5:19, scripture tells us, “Jesus did not let him but told him, “Go home to your own people, and report to them how much the Lord has done for you and how he has had mercy on you.” Jesus had just delivered a man who had lived in the tombs, bound with shackles and chains (vs. 3-4), was demon possessed and now in his right mind (vs. 15). Some powerful truths for us to receive are 1) Jesus knows our chains and is our “chain breaker” 2) Jesus uses our past chains to help others receive freedom and 3) Jesus changes our life story.
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– What has Jesus set you free from in your life? Take a few minutes and thank Jesus for the freedom you have in your life.
– What is Jesus doing in your relationship with Him right now? Have you experienced any freedom this week? If so, share this with someone –perhaps someone in your family, a friend or co-worker.
– As God’s sons and daughters, we all have a story to tell of Jesus saving us and setting us free. Pray for opportunities to share your story of salvation and freedom with someone who does not know Jesus.
