28-Week Prayer Guide
Freedom
This week’s prayer focus is “Freedom.” Freedom is experiencing an intimate relationship with God and walking in the truth of who He is and who He says we are – our identity in Christ. However, this life of freedom is a journey. We have brokenness, sin, lies that we believe and walls within us that separate us from living in freedom.
Scripture tells us in Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners.”
The prayers we pray this week are an invitation for Jesus to heal us, restore us, and set us free. As God’s sons and daughters, we were created to live in an intimate relationship with God and freedom is about restoring intimacy with God.

“Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.”
— Hebrews 4:16
REMINDER: How can we approach the throne of grace with boldness? We are God’s sons and daughters, and our identity is in Christ. However, we have brokenness in our lives. We have pride. We have sin and we are far from being perfect. How can we possibly approach the throne of grace with boldness? Because we belong at the throne of grace. Colossians 1:13 says “He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.” We are bold because we have been set free from the domain of darkness and transferred into God’s Kingdom where we can freely enter because Jesus rescued us.
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– Ask God to show you lies you believe about prayer and to set you free any lies that you believe about prayer (examples: I’m not good enough, I don’t pray good enough, my prayers are not powerful, He doesn’t really hear me, prayers don’t really make a difference, etc).
– Ask God to increase your faith in prayer and give you a passion to pray.
– Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you, lead you and anoint you to pray.
– Thank Jesus for rescuing you from darkness and transforming you into God’s Kingdom.
