28-Week Prayer Guide
Freedom
This week’s prayer focus is “Freedom.” Freedom is experiencing an intimate relationship with God and walking in the truth of who He is and who He says we are – our identity in Christ. However, this life of freedom is a journey. We have brokenness, sin, lies that we believe and walls within us that separate us from living in freedom.
Scripture tells us in Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners.”
The prayers we pray this week are an invitation for Jesus to heal us, restore us, and set us free. As God’s sons and daughters, we were created to live in an intimate relationship with God and freedom is about restoring intimacy with God.

April 10
“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.“

REMINDER: One of the lies that the enemy tells us is that we are alone. It is up to us to change ourselves, heal our hearts, fix our circumstances, families – it is all up to us. So, we say a quick prayer and then we get to work. We forget that Jesus told us that we are not orphans (John 14:18). We are adopted by God and our Father sent the Holy Spirit to live in us so that we are never alone. We can receive freedom from striving, performance, and the weight of worry and fear as we depend on the Holy Spirit to help and empower us. And we experience freedom from the enemy’s lies as the Holy Spirit reminds us of the truth that sets us free.
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– Ask the Holy Spirit to help you know Him more fully and to be more aware of His presence in your life.
– What are you facing today that is difficult in your life, family or work? What are you attempting to do in your own strength today? Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you (Ephesians 5:18) and strengthen you.
– Thank the Holy Spirit for living within you and ask Him to help you discern His voice and to lead you.
