28-Week Prayer Guide
Freedom
This week’s prayer focus is “Freedom.” Freedom is experiencing an intimate relationship with God and walking in the truth of who He is and who He says we are – our identity in Christ. However, this life of freedom is a journey. We have brokenness, sin, lies that we believe and walls within us that separate us from living in freedom.
Scripture tells us in Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners.”
The prayers we pray this week are an invitation for Jesus to heal us, restore us, and set us free. As God’s sons and daughters, we were created to live in an intimate relationship with God and freedom is about restoring intimacy with God.

And a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased.“
— Matthew 3:17
REMINDER: We see a powerful picture of how God sees us in Matthew 3:17 as God speaks His blessing over Jesus by saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” The word “pleased” means to think well of, approve, take delight or pleasure in. God is speaking about His beloved Son, but it is also how God speaks of us – His beloved sons and daughters. God loves us, approves of us, delights in us, is well-pleased with us because we belong to Him and are lives are hidden in Christ (Colossians 3: 3). When our Father looks at us, He sees His Son. This is the only way we can be holy and blameless in His sight (Ephesians 1:4).
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– Ask God to show you any lies the enemy is telling you today about yourself. Ask God to forgive you for believing the lies and to set you free from them. Ask God to help you believe the truth that you are His beloved son or daughter who He is well-pleased with because you belong to Him.
– The enemy is cruel and tells children lies about themselves at a very young age. Pray for the children in your life (family, friends, neighbors) to be set free from the enemy’s lies. Pray for their hearts to be open to the truth that they are created in God’s image and are deeply loved by God.
– Lies are painful. Pray for healing in your heart and the children’s hearts that you prayed for today.
– Close today’s prayer thanking Jesus for giving His life so that we have a new identity in Him.
