30-Day Devotional

DAY 4

February 2

“Presence precedes proclamation. Our tending to Christ’s presence in the world, and to each other’s presence, makes possible the proclamation of the gospel into people’s lives.”

— David Fitch

“and day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people.”
Acts 2:46

TODAY’S PRAYER THOUGHT
The gospel is more than a set of new facts about God, it is the means by which we are lovingly restored to God and each other. It calls us into relationship. To enjoy the presence of God and each other as God’s new community. This means we put being “present” with others as a priority of proclaiming the gospel in the world. Presence precedes proclamation. Nobody cares how much we know until they know how much we care. Throughout this prayer campaign, let’s seek opportunities to be with and love on and care for the people on our list. As we make presence a priority, we increase the potential of “God adding to our numbers day by day.”

TODAY’S PRAYER FOR GOD’S PEOPLE
1. Lord, help us to see the incredible importance of our “presence” with others. 2. Father, give us your supernatural love for the people on our list and around the world, that we might enjoy their presence too.

TODAY’S PRAYER FOR THE PEOPLE ON YOUR LIST
Lord, I ask that you would create opportunities for connecting and being with each person and family on my list. God help each person and family on my list to see and experience Your presence in me as I seek to love them as You do.
