Go Beyond At Home

28-Week Prayer Guide

One of the quickest ways to enter into a posture of prayer is by giving thanks to the Lord. Gratitude is more than just a feeling. It is speaking back to God, the truth about His character and what we have seen Him do. We can be thankful in the valleys just like we can be on the mountain tops. Throughout the New Testament letters, we read words of thankfulness and gratitude for the work of God and the people of God, and our hearts are stirred up and encouraged. I myself, thank God for you. I am so grateful that you are faithfully entering into these weeks of prayer, knowingly dependent on the giver. As we enter into this week of Gratitude, I have no doubt of the heart work that God will do and the joy that will come out of it.

Week 7
Day 7

April 20

“Let the whole earth should triumphantly to the Lord! Serve the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Acknowledge that the Lord is God. He made us, and we are his-his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and bless his name. For the Lord is good, and his faithful love endures forever, his faithfulness, through all generations.

— Psalm 100

REMINDER: This psalm reminds me of a child that comes to you and is just bursting to tell you about something that he loves. It calls us to participate in the act of worshipping the Lord. We are to shout (v.1), serve (v.2), acknowledge the Lord (v.3), Enter in (v.4), Give thanks (v. 4), Bless his name (v.4). All this because He is good, and his faithful love endures forever. I invite you to say this psalm out loud before entering into prayer.

–  Praise the Lord that He is God. Thank him for being good.

–  Praise the Lord that unlike the world around us, He never changes. Thank him that we can trust in his faithfulness.

–  Ask the Lord to teach you how to participate in worshipping Him daily. Thank him for the invitation to be in a relationship with him.
