28-Week Prayer Guide

gratitude

One of the quickest ways to enter into a posture of prayer is by giving thanks to the Lord. Gratitude is more than just a feeling. It is speaking back to God, the truth about His character and what we have seen Him do. We can be thankful in the valleys just like we can be on the mountain tops. Throughout the New Testament letters, we read words of thankfulness and gratitude for the work of God and the people of God, and our hearts are stirred up and encouraged. I myself, thank God for you. I am so grateful that you are faithfully entering into these weeks of prayer, knowingly dependent on the giver. As we enter into this week of Gratitude, I have no doubt of the heart work that God will do and the joy that will come out of it.

Week 7
Day 3

April 16

“I recall your sincere faith that first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and now, I am convinced is in you also.”

— 2 Timothy 1:5-7

REMINDER: Paul is writing to encourage Timothy and to remind him of the legacy of faith that has been passed down to him. While we may not all have had the same family legacy as Timothy, as believers we have had someone share the gospel with us. We too, are called to pass that same seed of faith on to others. Take time today to consider your story of faith and for the people of faith that God has surrounded you with.

TODAY’S PRAYER:

–  Look back over your life and thank God for anyone who had a spiritual influence on your life.

–  Pray for those around you that you have influence over. Pray that God would use you to be a spiritual influence on them.

–  Pray for courage and boldness.
