28-Week Prayer Guide
Freedom
This week’s prayer focus is “Freedom.” Freedom is experiencing an intimate relationship with God and walking in the truth of who He is and who He says we are – our identity in Christ. However, this life of freedom is a journey. We have brokenness, sin, lies that we believe and walls within us that separate us from living in freedom.
Scripture tells us in Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners.”
The prayers we pray this week are an invitation for Jesus to heal us, restore us, and set us free. As God’s sons and daughters, we were created to live in an intimate relationship with God and freedom is about restoring intimacy with God.

“Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ. For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him. He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace that he lavished on us in the Beloved One.“

REMINDER: In Genesis 3, the enemy lied to Adam and Eve about God. The enemy saw how powerful his lies were and the impact it had on Adam and Eve’s relationship with God. If we want to experience freedom, it is essential that we recognize how powerful the enemy’s lies are and the impact they have on our relationship with God. But our focus can’t stay on the lies. Our focus must be on the truth that sets us free from the lies.
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– Read Ephesians 1: 3-6 again but this time as a prayer for your heart. Slowly read the words while asking God to help you receive His truth.
– What lies has the enemy told you about God? Ask God to speak to your heart and reveal the lies you believe about Him. As God reveals lies to you, tell Him you are sorry for believing the lies and ask Him to set you free from lies and to heal your relationship with Him.
– There are people all around us who reject God because the enemy has told them lies about God. Ask the Spirit to bring to mind the names of 1 or 2 people and pray for them to be set free from the enemy’s lies about God.
