28-Week Prayer Guide
Church Family,
I’m deeply grateful for all who are joining me in this season of earnest prayer for God’s blessing of Kingsland, and for wisdom and provision as we seek to follow God’s leading. This week, as we transition from the Beatitudes of Matthew 5, let’s pray out of the final “blessing” shared by the Lord: we need His power to face opposition from a culture that is averse to the things of God. As the culture continues to move further from the standards God has set forth, the differences in our own beliefs and the prevailing beliefs around us will have a greater contrast. Let’s pray together for wisdom, strength, and favor with those same neighbors as we seek to share the truth in love.

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in one’s possessions—is not from the Father, but is from the world.”
— 1 John 2:15-16
REMINDER: When John speaks of “the world” in today’s passage, he is referring to “the present order of things.” We live in a broken world awaiting the return of Christ to rule, reign and restore. In the meantime, Christians are warned not to fall in love with this failed system of things that eventually leads to sin and destruction. Let’s pray together that God would protect us from these dangers.
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– Pray that we would have eyes to see the dangers around us for what they really are.
– Ask the Lord to guard your heart from the temptations around us.
– Invite God to change any aspect of your life that might be contrary to His ways.
