Go Beyond At Home
28-Week Prayer Guide
Teachers and Students
We are just days away from the annual transition of starting the new school year. This is a meaningful change in season for so many in our community but specifically teachers and students. This week, we will focus on praying specifically for our teachers and students as they begin this new season.
Week 22
Day 4
July 31
“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.“
— Philippians 4:6-7
REMINDER: What a bold statement: “Don’t worry about anything.” Did God really mean for us to be able to live that freely—not to worry about anything? The new school year brings lots of changes with it—new friends, new activities, and new schedules that impact the whole family. With new beginnings come many unknowns. If we’re not intentional, these unknowns can create space for anxiety to creep in. Instead, God’s Word thankfully shows us how to enjoy peace beyond our understanding, and the answer is found in what you are making time to do right this moment—prayer and thanksgiving.
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– In an attitude of surrender, share with God any areas of your life where you are feeling anxiety.
– Pray for the students and teachers that may be feeling anxious about the start of the new school year.
– Thank God for His peace that guards our hearts and minds from worry.
