28-Week Prayer Guide
praying for the lost
This week we will be focusing our collective prayers as a church on reaching the lost with the good news of Jesus Christ. This is one of the greatest functions of the body of Christ and in an incredible display of mercy and grace, God uses the saved to reach the unsaved through the work of the Holy Spirit. He alone gets the glory for this work, and it is only by his work in us that we can participate. This work is ongoing, and the need is great, but we serve a mighty God who delights in the lost being found.
Week 21
Day 7
July 27
“Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. 20 For this I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I might be bold enough to speak about it as I should.“
— Ephesians 6:19-20
REMINDER: Boldness is a noun, defined by Oxford Languages as the “willingness to take risks and act innovatively; confidence or courage.” This is the opposite of shyness. As followers of Jesus, we have the greatest life-saving news of all time, and it is certainly worth taking a few risks to speak courageously about this good news. Sometimes we just need to be willing to open our mouths so that the Lord may speak through us.
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– Pray that God would give you opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
– Pray that you would recognize divine opportunities to boldly speak grace-filled truth to the lost.
– Pray that your boldness would make an eternal impact in the lives of those who need to hear the Gospel.
