praying for the lost
This week we will be focusing our collective prayers as a church on reaching the lost with the good news of Jesus Christ. This is one of the greatest functions of the body of Christ and in an incredible display of mercy and grace, God uses the saved to reach the unsaved through the work of the Holy Spirit. He alone gets the glory for this work, and it is only by his work in us that we can participate. This work is ongoing, and the need is great, but we serve a mighty God who delights in the lost being found.

“The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.”
— 2 Peter 3:9
REMINDER: Aren’t you grateful that the Lord is patient with you? Remember today that just as he has been patient with you, He is being patient with others. We live in a world of “immediates” but just because you can stream any episode of your favorite show at any time, doesn’t mean we can point our prayer at God like a tv remote and expect him to immediately provide our preferred results. Don’t lose heart and continue praying faithfully for God to move in the hearts of the lost.
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– Ask God to give you patience as you pray for the lost.
– Ask God to help you trust his perfect timing and plan.
– Pray that the lost would come to know Jesus when the time is right.
