Go Beyond At Home
28-Week Prayer Guide
Mission Endeavors
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8, NASB)
The last command of Jesus was a command to evangelize (read also Matt. 28:19-20; Mark 16:15, John 20:21). We are still under obligation to obey this command; it has not been repealed. There are no exemptions to obedience by virtue of our age, gender, rank, race, or riches. Nor can we substitute anything in place of this command. Regardless of whatever else we may do in the church and for the kingdom, these things are to be done in addition to but not in place of evangelism. Determine to look for opportunities to share the story of Jesus with those whom God puts in your path.
Week 20
Day 2
July 15
”I am obligated both to Greeks and barbarians, both to the wise and the foolish. So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.”
— Romans 1:14-15
REMINDER: A debt is an obligation. So, to whom was Paul obligated? Paul was certainly obligated to Christ for his salvation. But, he was also obligated to all who do not know Christ. All Christ-followers have this same obligation — a debt to pay. Like Paul, we owe Christ to those who do not know Christ and should be eager to pay that debt.
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– List the people within your sphere of influence who do not know Christ and pray for each of them by name.
– Ask God to give you a sense of urgency or eagerness to share the gospel with them.
– Pray for opportunities to build bridges of love that will enable you to share the gospel with others.
– Ask God for the boldness to share your personal story of faith in Christ.
