Go Beyond At Home
28-Week Prayer Guide
Loving our neighbors
Kingsland Family, what a joy it is to lead you through this week as we continue to pray together. This week, we will focus on the theme of “Loving your neighbor.” Each day, we will meditate on scriptures that remind us of the importance of showing kindness, compassion, and understanding to those around us. Our prayers will center on asking God to help us see others as He sees them, breaking down any barriers that prevent us from loving fully, and finding practical ways to demonstrate His love in our daily interactions. Let us come together in prayer, seeking God to do something spectacular by bringing transformation to our communities.
Week 19
Day 4
July 10
“When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, ‘Zacchaeus, hurry and come down because today it is necessary for me to stay at your house.’ So he quickly came down and welcomed him joyfully.“
— Luke 19:5-6
REMINDER: Jesus demonstrates the importance of personal connection and hospitality through His encounter with Zacchaeus. By choosing to stay at Zacchaeus’ house, Jesus showed acceptance and love, leading to Zacchaeus’ transformation. Inviting neighbors into our homes for a meal, or going into another homes for the same reason, can have a profound impact, fostering deeper relationships and creating a sense of community. Acts 2:46 (CSB) also reminds us, “Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts.”
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– Thank God for the example of Jesus in showing love and hospitality.
– Ask for a deeper understanding of how to love God and others in everyday life.
– Pray for a heart that is sensitive to the needs and struggles of our neighbors.
– Pray for boldness to invite neighbors into our homes for a meal, creating opportunities for fellowship and deeper connections.
– Seek God’s guidance on who to invite and ask for a spirit of hospitality and openness to welcome others.
