28-Week Prayer Guide
Marriage
Church Family,
I’m deeply grateful for all who are joining me in this season of earnest prayer for God’s blessing of Kingsland, and for wisdom and provision as we seek to follow God’s leading. This week, we have the opportunity to pray for marriages in our congregation – and if we are married this is a great opportunity to pray for our own marriage. May our church be strengthened by the growth of healthy marriages!
Week 12
Day 5
May 23
“Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love—but the greatest of these is love.“
— 1 Corinthians 13:13
REMINDER: According to the Apostle Paul in today’s Scripture passage, the greatest characteristic a follower of Christ can demonstrate is love…and what better place for us to live out this character trait than in our marriage! Many elements of Christian faith can be developed in solitude (fasting, prayer, study), but the bedrock of the Christian’s life, love, can only be developed in community. Our marriages provide a wonderful classroom for which we can learn how to love.
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– Thank God for the love you and your spouse share.
– Invite God to continue to grow your love for your spouse.
– Ask Him to show you ways you can demonstrate sacrificial love to your spouse.
– Thank God for the gift of your spouse.
