28-Week Prayer Guide
Marriage
Church Family,
I’m deeply grateful for all who are joining me in this season of earnest prayer for God’s blessing of Kingsland, and for wisdom and provision as we seek to follow God’s leading. This week, we have the opportunity to pray for marriages in our congregation – and if we are married this is a great opportunity to pray for our own marriage. May our church be strengthened by the growth of healthy marriages!
Week 12
Day 3
May 21
“I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.“
— Galatians 2:20
REMINDER: Marriage is one place where it can be easy to forget that it’s really not about getting all our own needs met. Marriage is actually about serving each other and following the example of Christ. Jesus is our example on how to treat each other in our marriages. During Jesus’ life he served, loved, and even sacrificed his life for us. May we do the same for our spouse.
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– Ask God to give us strength to live and love like Jesus in our marriage.
– Pray that God would show us areas where we need to be more like Christ as a spouse.
– If you feel led, ask your spouse to forgive you for specific ways you have been selfish.
– Thank God for the gift of your spouse.
