Go Beyond At Home

28-Week Prayer Guide

Parents and Children

Deuteronomy 6:4-9  “Listen, Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead.Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your city gates.”

Parenting can be exhausting! But what if we are wearing ourselves out on things that have no eternal significance and missing out on what we should really be focused on? There’s nothing wrong with spending time and energy on academics, sports, music, dance, etc.  It’s just easy to get priorities out of order. This week as we pray, ask the Lord to open your eyes to see where your energy is going and ask for His guidance to adjust your priorities if needed.

Week 10
Day 7

May 11

Tell your children about it, and let your children tell their children, and their children the next generation.

— Joel 1:3

REMINDER: Imagine 100 years from now, a family sitting together talking about their unwavering faith in Jesus. Are you sharing your faith with your children in a way that will compel them to tell their own children…for generations? Are we just sharing Bible stories or are we passing down the ways that God is meeting you where you are and changing your life? Your today will have an impact on generations of your family.

TODAY’S PRAYER:

–  Pray for God to move in your life and the lives of your children and grandchildren in a mighty way.

–  Pray that you would have eyes to see what God is doing, and share it.

–  Pray for generations of your family to love and serve God with everything they have.
