Go Beyond At Home
28-Week Prayer Guide
mission trips
Kingsland Family, I am honored to get to write this week’s prayer guide. Over the course of the next two weeks, the KSM (Kingsland Student Ministry) will be sending out over 400 students and adult leaders around the world to “Go Beyond” and go on mission. Our students will be serving in Houston (6th grade), Austin (7th grade), Arlington (8th grade), Chicago (9th grade), Alaska (10th grade), Colombia (11th grade), and Uganda (12th grade). Please join us in praying for the hearts of our students and leaders, for the people we will encounter, and for your own heart as we all have the gift of moving in the direction of people in need and showing the love of Christ!
Week 18
Day 1
June 30
“When he saw the crowds, he felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd.“
— Matthew 9:36
REMINDER: Jesus has been preaching and performing miracles and, in this verse, we get a picture of Jesus heart for people. He sees the crowd and He has compassion on them. Why? Because they were harassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd. That word compassion can be translated as deeply moved, and in this instance, Jesus is deeply moved to help the people who are in great need. We as Christ-followers are called to be the hands and feet of Christ and have a heart of compassion for people who are in need. Our hope is for students to learn to view people the way that Jesus did, with compassion.
TODAY’S PRAYER:
– Ask God to give the students of the KSM the vision to see people as Jesus did.
– Pray for a heart of compassion for students as they encounter people who are in need and pray that they would move in those people’s direction when opportunities are presented.
– Ask God to help you see people the way that Jesus does and that when you personally are presented with opportunities to move in the direction of people in need, you would respond in obedience.
