Leslee McWhirter and her family have attended Kingsland since 1993. Since joining KBC, Leslee has volunteered in numerous ministries, served as the Children & Preschool Associate from 2003-2011, stepped into the role of Interim Children’s Minister in 2011, and in the fall of 2014 she accepted the position of Children’s Minister. Leslee grew up in Houston and earned a degree in Elementary Education from University of Texas; following graduation, she taught school in Aldine for 8 years, with a specialization in ESL.

Leslee and her husband James both love hanging out with kids to hear the wacky things they say. They have 2 grown children. Their daughter Meredith and her husband Tanner live too far away in Louisiana. Their son Braston, is a Marine and is currently stationed in Washington DC.  Leslee grew up in church but never heard about a personal relationship with Jesus until college. She is passionate about kids learning about Jesus and knowing that they have a choice to make for their own lives.
