Our Mission

is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for families with Special Needs loved ones to grow in their faith and build community.  We sings songs of worship, work puzzles, swing and laugh! Our ministry serves all ages.

Special Buddies

Is our group for children up to 5th grade with special needs.  We have a buddy room or we can also pair a child a youth or adult volunteer that accompanies him or her to their Bible study class to help them be part of a classroom during activities and transition.

Kingdom Crew

Small group Bible Study for Kingsland Student Ministry Jr High and High School ages with Special Needs. 

Taking Aim

Is our class for adults with special needs.

Sunday Morning

Our desire is for each student to hear God's word in a way that is relevant to them and to help them in their personal journey to know Jesus.

Wednesday Night Fall 2019

Parent and Caregivers gather together each Wednesday to support and encourage one another.  Speakers are generally scheduled twice a month.  Children are welcome in the buddy room, but we ask that you complete  a student information form so that we will have any important information.  Please contact Nancy Butschek nbutschek@kingsland.org for more information and to register your child.

Upcoming speakers:

  • October 16 Faith Haley, Neuro-Educationalist - A Brilliant Foundation. Faith will share about the possibilities that await your children. She is very passionate about giving hope to parents whose children struggle to learn, have behavoiral issues, or a label saying what they can or cannot do, with the knowledge that things can be different.
  • October 23  Dr. Tracy Weeden, President and CEO of Neuhaus Education Center, is a seasoned and passionate leader dedicated to advancing literacy and academic excellence for children and adults. With an educational leadership doctorate, Dr. Weeden has spent her career creating and building innovative programs, systems, and teams focused on providing enhanced learning opportunities and exceptional outcomes for students. Dr. Weeden will speak on Transforming the Family Tree through Literacy
  • October 30 Fred and Patti Shafer, Educators with 40 years and 37 years experience. Patti served as a general and special education teacher, assistant principal and principal. Fred served as Executive Director for Special Education, Counseling and Psychological Services for Katy ISD for ten years, Director of Special Education for Region 4 ESC, as well as Executive Director for Special Education for Beaumont ISD. Fred also serves as President of the Board for The Arc of Katy.  They will speak to the topics of IEP Help, Children's Rights and Incorporating Balance.
