Affinity – A Support Group For Men

Tuesday Nights  •  7:00 pm – 8:30 pm  •  Room C258

Affinity is a support group for men who struggle with the inability to connect well with others in the way God designed all humans. This incapability manifests itself through things like isolation, powerlessness over sexual compulsions, avoidance of love and immoral relationships. These behavioral problems are recognized as being sourced in the designed-in need for intimacy that all humans have and that has been distorted by sin.

At Affinity, we expect to see men who:

•  Struggle with sexual aspects of relationships.
•  Avoid loving their wives – even though they want to love them.
•  Have had long-term affairs, both sexual and emotional.
•  Can’t shake their pornography habit.
•  Don’t have truly close friends, and tend to isolate.

Affinity meetings are open and free to attend.  No pre-notification is necessary to attend, just show up. For information, contact Doug Valot at dvalot@kingsland.org

Parakaleo - Women’s Support Group

Parakaleo is a support group providing a safe and confidential environment for women whose lives have been affected by the sexual impurity of a significant man in their lives. Here, you will find a group of women who can relate, support, and nurture you through this journey. The support group is led by women who have survived their own painful experience and have found healing on their journey. For more information, contact Rebecca Skinner at RSkinner@kingsland.org. Weekly attendance is not required.

Freedom Classes

New Session dates TBD

Freedom Classes are topical classes focused on God’s approach to freedom in Christ. Each class will explore an area that may be a stumbling block for living the life God designed for every believer. We will identify and learn how to remove the things that are currently hindering our spiritual growth. These classes are great for anyone interested in learning about freedom in Christ. No cost.

Topics for Freedom Classes

Unashamed by Christine Caine • Women only

Next session dates TBA

In this six-session study, learn how shame impacts our lives and how to experience freedom from shame. Shame affects every aspect of life, including family relationships. In this study, explore biblical truth that reveals your identity in Christ and allows you to live free from the lies of the enemy.  God desires to use your freedom to transform the way you relate to your spouse, your children, and others in your sphere of influence. This study will equip you with practical ways to live free from the burden of shame. God is bigger than your mistakes, your inadequacies, and your limitations. You are not fundamentally flawed but worthy of acceptance. You have been set free. Cost: $10 for study guide.
