30-Day Devotional
DAY 7
February 5
“When I pray for another person, I am praying for God to open my eyes so that I can see that person as God does, and then enter into the stream of love that God already directs toward that person.”
— Philip Yancey
“and peter directed his gaze at him, as did john, and said, ‘look at us.’ and he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.”
Acts 3:4-5
TODAY’S PRAYER THOUGHT
Read Acts 3:1-10. How many times had Peter and John seen this man before today? Yet this time, they saw him differently. Both John and Peter directed their gaze at him. In other words, they looked intensely at the man. It was purposeful and intentional. Even though they may have seen him many times before, on this occasion, they truly saw him. Having witnessed Jesus focus His attention on individuals during his earthly ministry, Peter and John fixed their gaze on this man with the sole purpose of seeing him with different eyes…eyes of compassion and eyes of love. Who do you need to SEE in this way today?
TODAY’S PRAYER FOR GOD’S PEOPLE
Lord, I beg you to give me eyes to SEE the people on my prayer list as you see them and may have the strengthen and compassion to love them as you love them. In Jesus Name, Amen.
TODAY’S PRAYER FOR THE PEOPLE ON YOUR LIST
Lord, I pray for each person on my list today to know full well they are truly seen by me. More importantly, I pray that they would know full well that they are seen by You! In Jesus Name, Amen.
