30-Day Devotional

DAY 5

february 3

“Let our wise men ransack earth to its center, and climb to heaven and make inquisition through every star, the testimony of universal nature if heard aright shall never contradict the inspired utterances of the Holy Ghost.

— Charles Spurgeon

“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of his hands.”
Psalm 19:1

TODAY’S PRAYER THOUGHT
Every part of the natural world, when viewed with honest eyes, points to Creator God. There is an inescapable intricacy to every aspect of creation that screams to all who take a closer look, “This did not happen by accident, but by design!” Scriptures such as Romans 1 and Psalm 19 remind us that these beautiful examples point to the Lord when eyes are opened to the truth. It is a myth that good science is at odds with scriptural truth; on the contrary, the more we know of the Cosmos, the more we recognize its absence of chaotic randomness. Some of our greatest talking points with those far from God may begin with the wonder of our world.

TODAY’S PRAYER FOR GOD’S PEOPLE
Father, thank you for the reminders of your glory that surround us in nature. Remind us of the Hands that formed such wonder. And as we delight in such work, open doors for us to remind others of the work you have done. Amen.

TODAY’S PRAYER FOR THE PEOPLE ON YOUR LIST
Lord, we’re reminded today that those people you have put in our path are precious to you. We pray they gain the joy of knowing you through by trusting Jesus. In His matchless Name we pray, Amen.
