Route 66

Route 66 - Sermon Series began April 11

"Are we there yet?" It's a common question that echoes from the back seat on a long road trip. We've all heard it or said it at least once in our lives. It's a sign of boredom but also an admission that someone doesn't know the route to the final destination. Many of those family trips were taken along Route 66. It's the famous highway that was created in 1926 that ran from Chicago to Los Angeles. Also, known as "Will Rogers Highway" and the "Main Street of America" it gave a great view and understanding of America. Movies and much music have been made about it.

I want to invite you to join me on Sunday mornings for the next 66 weeks as we explore the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. Route 66 will kickoff on April 11th as we begin our trip in the book of Genesis. We will reach our final destination in the book of Revelation. I will preach the key scripture from each book of the Bible on Sundays and then ask you to memorize, meditate, and talk about that key scripture all week until the following Sunday. As Psalm 119:105 says, 'Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.' As a church that is committed to teaching the whole counsel of God, we will take this journey through the scriptures together at church as well as around our dinner tables.

From our understanding of the 'big picture' of God's Word in the days ahead, may you never have to ask again, "are we there yet?" You will know exactly where you are!
